Encounter with Mola mola

While diving in Bali, we encounter Mola mola.  It was an ancient fish usually swim in southern part of the globe.  Usually due to change in ocean temperature, the fish come to the shore.  As we dive in the Nusa Penida, we saw some mola-mola.  It was quite different view.  I manage to get some photo of them.  It was quite cold temperature at that time.  I think mola mola is looking for warm temperature around August in Bali.

Diving in Indian Ocean is quite challenging, since the wave is huge event under water.  When we dive about 5 meter, the dive computer keep beeping since we are too quickly going up and down.

Mola mola fish accompanied by a small fish as mutual symbiosis  between them.  It is quite rare experience to encounter mola mola during my diving experience.

Some divers do some silly act by touching mola mola, make it run away as depicted in picture below.  I think they do that since they are not bringing under water camera.  To get some experience with mola mola they are touching it.

For info, we dive with Water Woxx, an experienced dive center based in Germany.  The dive guide is familiar with Nusa penida area.
